While community foundations are not qualified tax advisers, they give relevant information on the types of tax benefits of giving and encourage donors to check with their own financial advisers.

In addition, until March 2011, clients of community foundations with an interest in establishing an endowed fund in England may benefit from a pound-for-pound cash match from the Government. In certain circumstances this can lead to a trebling of the value of a client's fund.
