The Sport Relief Community Cash programme launched at the end of January 2010.
It will take place in 16 cities - hosts to the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile event. Each city has a fund of £62,500 available.
Community foundations are administering grants of between £500 and £1000, working in partnership with Comic Relief and a local media partner.
Groups wanting to apply for a grant must submit an application form to their local funder (see below) by midday, Friday 5 March 2010.

We believe that local people know what is needed in their community and are best place to make any changes. Having lots of activities happening in the area brings vibrancy to a local community which can make it a better place to live.
We are also aware that many people are undertaking great work in their areas but often struggle to get the support they need.
We therefore want to support community groups undertaking work that
Groups need to:
Grants will not be awarded to individuals, statutory organisations such as schools, and groups who are not constituted.
Money cannot be used to fund trips abroad, community transport schemes or building costs.
